This album opens with a long track I recorded on the Kilauea Iki Trail at the summit of Kilauea Volcano. Other tracks include Zebra Doves, Spotted Doves, a Northern Cardinal in the distance, and Myna birds in a Maui garden; an O'Mao, or Hawaiian Thrush; a Chinese Hwamei reacting to the presence of a rival; a track I recorded with an underwater microphone on a sandy beach, featuring the rollicking bubbles of incoming surf and a mystery animal in the background; and another recording from Kilauea's summit during a light drizzle.
